The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a heavy rainfall warning across the National Capital Region and four other provinces due to Tropical Storm Domeng.
In an advisory at 8 a.m., Pagasa said Metro Manila, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, and Cavite would be affected by the yellow warning level for Saturday.
The weather agency also cautioned residents in the said areas for possible flooding.
Pagasa added that as of 3 a.m., “Domeng” was spotted at 505 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
Domeng is packing a maximum sustained winds of 80 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 95 kph.
Domeng is forecasted to move north northeast of the country at a speed of 17 kph. /muf
