Espinosa supplied us with drugs, ex-bodyguard tells court
A former bodyguard of Kerwin Espinosa on Friday claimed that the alleged Visayan drug lord was the one who supplied them with the “shabu” (crystal meth) that was confiscated from them by policemen in a raid in Albuera, Leyte, in July 2016.
During a hearing at the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 26, which is trying the drug trading and illegal possession of firearms charges against Espinosa, Marcelo Adorco said he saw his former employer hand over a 125-gram packet of shabu worth P1.9 million to fellow witness Jose Antipuesto.
The shabu, flown in from Baybay, Leyte, as evidence in Espinosa’s trial, was allegedly seized from Adorco, who was arrested along with Antipuesto and three of Espinosa’s men in a buy-bust trap laid by Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, then police chief of Albuera town.
Adorco said they were ordered by Espinosa to sell the drugs before the latter flew to Abu Dhabi. —KRIXIA SUBINGSUBING
