A publisher in Davao del Norte was shot dead in broad daylight Thursday afternoon, police said.
Dennis Denora, publisher of community paper Trends and Times, was gunned down at around 1:10 p.m. by an unidentified assailant in Panabo City.
Davao del Norte police chief Sr. Supt. Alan D. Manibog confirmed this incident to Inquirer. “Our investigators are now in the area,” he said.
According to a spot report, Denora, 67, was seated at the passenger seat of his Hyundai Elantra parked at the national highway in Barangay New Pandan.
The suspect shot Denora twice to the head, killing him instantly, before fleeing on foot.
Denora’s driver, Mayonito A. Rivera, sustained two gunshot wounds in his hands and is recuperating at the Rivera Medical Center.
