‘Drunken’ school guard in Cavite nabbed for firing gun
SAN PEDRO CITY – A school guard in Bacoor City in Cavite province was arrested early on Thursday for indiscriminately firing his gun.
Supt. Francisco Luceña III, city police chief, said a concerned citizen reported gun shots being fired inside the campus of St. Francis Institute and Learning School in Barangay (village) Molino IV around 1 a.m. where the suspect Kevin Riano works as a security guard.
He said the police responded to the scene and found Riano, who was on duty at the time.
“He was drunk,” Luceña said in a phone interview.
The police said that aside from illegally firing his gun, Riano failed to show documents for his caliber .38 gun.
“(The weapon) was mostly likely issued to him so we are now coordinating with his (security) agency about it,” he added.
