All night downpours all over Metro Manila have caused flooding in some areas, as Tropical Depression “Domeng” maintained its strength and is seen to likely enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat affecting Luzon and Visayas.
According to a Radyo Inquirer report on Thursday, houses in Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City were affected by flooding. A video and several photos posted on Twitter by @Marvinvilla1970 showed that waters engulfed their furniture, accessories, and vehicles as flood reportedly reached as high as 3-4 feet.

The report also said that other roads in Quezon City experienced flooding, such as portions of Maria Clara Street and Talayan corner Araneta Avenue. In Mandaluyong, waters reached ankle-deep along the roads of Barangay Addition Hills.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a heavy rainfall warning on Thursday midnight for Metro Manila, and portions of Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan.
The weather bureau has terminated the warning as of 7 a.m. Thursday.
However, Pagasa said in its latest weather bulletin that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will still experience light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms due to the monsoon trough and southwest monsoon, which may cause flooding in low-lying areas.
According to Pagasa, Domeng was located 605 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 3 a.m. Thursday. The weather disturbance packed maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness up to 60 kph.
Domeng is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Sunday morning. /kga
