Manny Pacquiao keeps promise, turns over house to ice cream vendor

The life of Manong Marciano, a simple ice cream vendor, changed for the better in a serendipitous way when Senator Manny Pacquiao chanced on him last May 27 while the latter was waiting inside his car. The senator was in General Santos City in Mindanao then.

Their chance encounter quickly shifted from that of the senator just buying ice cream out of the extreme heat, to him offering Manong Marciano a house and lot, a new job and money.

And it appears that Pacquiao was true to his word as a certain Jen Manilay, one of the companions of the senator during the encounter, shared on Facebook last June 2 a video of Pacquiao paying a visit to the new home of Manong Marciano:

“Thank you Lord! Thank you Sen. MP!” wrote Manilay. “Turn-over ng bahay para kay (for) Manong Lino. June 2, 2018.”

In the video, Pacquiao can be seen walking around the modest house, wearing a simple polo shirt while being flocked by media men. Apart from an airy living room with tiled floors, a red couch and television, the video also showed a glimpse of a bedroom with a double bed.

Pacquiao poked around the other rooms before eventually taking a seat on one of the red chairs. He then knocked on a wall, seemingly to check if it’s well-made.

The video of Pacquiao and Manong Marciano’s first encounter may be viewed below. JB
