The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said firms suspected of engaging in labor-only contracting will be excluded from the nationwide job fair on June 12, Independence Day.
Labor Undersecretary Jing Paras said firms on the list of suspected labor-only contractors submitted to Malacañang will not be allowed to participate in 21 “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” job fair sites across the country.
Paras was referring to the 3,377 firms that were found either suspected or engaged in labor-only contracting by the DOLE.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Paras said: “We saw to it that none of them will be there… there will be no employers that are part of that list.”
“They (job fair participants) are employers who have not been perceived to have violated the law,” he added.
The Labor official said there would be 621 participating employers, composed of 501 local and 120 overseas employers, in the nationwide job fair. /vvp
