The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) may soon finish “revalidating” the list of politicians allegedly involved in illegal drugs in two weeks’ time, agency chief Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino said Tuesday.
However the release of the names included in the so-called “narcolist” would still depend on the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte, Aquino said.
“Again, four agencies are validating, malapit na matapos, sabi ko nga (dati) in two weeks matatapos. Pero I just hope we can finish in two weeks,” Aquino said in a press briefing at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City.
(Again, four agencies are validating, we would soon finish it, like I’ve said before we will finish in two weeks. But I just hope we can finish in two weeks.)
“We just started three or four months ago, we just started revalidating, hindi basta-basta simple magrevalidate (it is not that easy). It will take so much of your time,” he added.
Aquino said there are 93 politicians named in the narcolist, including jailed Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and Puerto Princesa City Vice Mayor Luis Marcaida III. /muf
