LPA to bring clouds and rain

Eastern and central Visayas, northern Mindanao, the Caraga and Davao Regions will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday morning.

A low pressure area (LPA) embedded  in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is forecast to bring bad weather to these areas, Pagasa said.

The LPA was estimated at 795 km east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, according to its 4 am bulletin.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, western Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.

Pagasa added that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Southwest to south winds over the western section of Luzon will be moderate to strong, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong northeast to north winds. The coastal waters in the area will also be moderate to rough.

Northwest to west winds over the Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to occasionally strong, with moderate to occasionally rough coastal waters.

Last Monday, temperatures in Metro Manila dropped at 25 degrees Celsius at 6 am, and rose to a high of 35.4 degrees at 1 pm. /cbb
