As classes set to resume on Monday, the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reminded the drivers of public utility vehicles to give students their 20 percent discounted fare.

LTFRB board member Atty. Aileen Lizada said on Sunday that the discounted fare for students was all-year round.

“Reminding all public utility vehicles to provide student discount, 20 percent po. Kahit holiday, kahit sunday, kahit Saturday (Even on holidays, even on Sundays and Saturday) — 24/7, 365 days po,” Lizada told reporters via Viber.

(Even though it’s vacation or sembreak, even on Christmas break, the student discount is still implemented. That is LTFRB’s policy.)

She also clarified that those students enrolled in vocational and technical school were also entitled to avail the discounted fare.
