PAGADIAN CITY – Police arrested a 71-year old man who reportedly stabbed his former girlfriend in a fit of rage outside the Agora public market in Barangay Sta. Lucia here Saturday midnight.

Investigator PO3 Marithy Chiong identified the suspect as Alberto Medina.

Chiong said Medina tried to woo anew 38-year old Judith Sabate, of Barangay Langapod in Labangan town, Zamboanga del Sur. The two previously lived together but separated for still unclear reasons.

The man reportedly asked forgiveness from Sabate and tried to convince her to live with him again.

But Sabate was unrelenting and rejected the proposal.

Medina then reportedly drew a knife and stabbed Sabate seven times.
