Cops arrest burglar shortly after committing crime

Police have arrested a suspected burglar who was reportedly identified with the help of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

A report filed on Saturday at the San Juan City Police Station on Saturday identified the suspect as Ryan Cruz, 31.

The burglary happened at around 6:30 a.m. on Friday in the apartment of Sonny Tolentino, 43, and Jordan Llanda, 21, Friday at the Arte Building on J. Ruiz Street in Barangay Salapan, San Juan.

Among the items stolen by Cruz were two mobile phones with a total worth of P21,000, two wallets containing with P5,000 each, and a backpack.

With the help of the CCTV installed in the building, the victims saw Cruz entering their house and leaving with their possessions.

Tolentino and Llanda immediately went to the police station to file complaint.

Police officers spotted Cruz in a restaurant near the police station and immediately arrested him.

The victims positively identified the suspect and managed to retrieved their belongings. /atm
