QCPD anti-drug ops net 15 suspects

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested 15 suspected drug pushers and users after a string of anti-drug operations on Friday night.

According to QCPD director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr., 15 suspects were arrested in police operations conducted at La Loma (1), Masambong (2), Batasan (2), Payatas (2), Cubao (5), Kamuning (1), and Galas (2)

In La Loma Police Station, a 41-year-old man from Calumpit, Bulacan, was initially apprehended for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle. Four sachets of suspected shabu were found in his possession after inspection.

Police officers from the Masambong Police Station arrested two suspects who are residents of Barangay San Antonio following a buy-bust operation, which yielded three sachets of suspected shabu.

Elements of the Batasan police also arrested a man who was walking half-naked along Sapphire Street, with another who was holding a knife. After frisking, police confiscated a sachet of shabu from each of them.

In Cubao, five were arrested in three different buy-bust operations. A suspected female drug pusher was arrested in Barangay E. Rodriguez after policemen found six sachets of shabu in her possession.

In Barangay San Roque, two suspects, including a female senior citizen, were arrested by Cubao policemen. Eight sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money were recovered from them.

QCPD officials said the arrested drug suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /jpv
