Mindanao-assigned cop returns home, is shot dead

A policeman who has returned home to Pasay City from an assignment in Mindanao was shot by an unidentified gunman on Thursday.

PO3 Rafael Sibungan died on Friday morning while being treated at Adventist Medical Center Manila due to a gunshot wound in his waist.

Sibungan was assigned at the regional police office of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

In a report to Senior Supt. Noel Flores, chief of Pasay City police, Sibungan was walking with his two sons along Roxas Boulevard around 7:40 p.m. and were about to turn right to their house on Dapitan Street when a man shot him once.
