PAGADIAN CITY—Another quake has hit Tabina town in Zamboanga del Sur around 6:21 p.m., this time at a much stronger magnitude, registering at 5.4.
The epicenter of the second quake, which was also tectonic in origin, was traced 26 kilometers south east of Tabina.
Zamboanga del Sur disaster risk reduction action officer Francisco Maca said they continue to monitor the situation, especially in coastal villages, in the aftermath of the quake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) had not issued any tsunami warning, though.
Around 10:19 a.m. on Friday, a magnitude 4.4 tremor also occurred in Tabina.
Phivolcs said no damage was expected in both quakes. /jpv
