2 Chinese men slain in Manila ambush
Two Chinese nationals were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on motorbikes early Wednesday morning, just a few meters away from a Manila Police District (MPD) precinct on Pedro Gil, Ermita.
PO3 Marlon San Pedro of the MPD homicide unit identified the victims as Huo Cheng Chen, 44, and Weishing Lee Chen, who both died on the spot.
Huo’s last known address was in Balut, Tondo while Weishing was from San Rafael, Navotas City.
San Pedro said they were in a Toyota Vios (UOV 966), with Weishing driving, when shot by the assailants at close range near the intersection of Roxas Boulevard and Pedro Gil Street around 1:30 a.m.
Quoting eyewitnesses, the officer said four men on two motorbikes were involved in the attack, with the apparently left-handed shooter concealing his gun in a yellow hankie as he pulled the trigger.
The MPD has yet to come up with suspects at press time.
