Duterte fires another gov’t exec, this time a Customs deputy commissioner
President Rodrigo Duterte has fired another government official, this time a Customs deputy commissioner over alleged excessive travels abroad.
Duterte on Wednesday sacked Customs Deputy Commissioner Noel Patrick Sales Prudente during his speech where he condemned smuggled luxury motor vehicles at the Bureau of Customs in Manila.
“He is now under investigation by the House. I will cut short the agony of Congress, so I am firing him today,” Duterte said.
Prudente was only appointed to the position in February./vvp
