Tugade warns against bribing gov’t execs and employees to speed-up transactions
Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade urged the public on Wednesday not to tempt government officials and employees by offering bribes to speed-up transactions.
Tugade said solving corruption in the country is a two-way process, and that government officials should also not be tempted by such acts.
“Ang pagsupil ng korapsyon, two-way yan. Wag niyo ilapit sa tukso ang mga empleyado kasi tayo mismo ang naglalagay sa mga sarili natin sa alanganin,” Tugade said in a statement.
“Kung ayaw ninyo kaming maging korap, ‘wag niyo kaming korapin,” he added.
Tugade made the remark following the suspension of an official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for allegedly charging P175,000 to expedite a taxi operator’s franchise application.
