KORONADAL CITY — The Central Mindanao Police Regional Office on Sunday presented to reporters the two suspects in the April 29 bombing here that left two persons slightly injured.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, the Central Mindanao police chief, identified the two as Sukarno Paidumama alias Karno Uttoc and Alihan Masangkay Adtog, who were arrested during a buy-bust here on Saturday.
He said that Sukarno was the suspect who carried the explosive and placed it inside a parked tricycle beside the Christ the King Cathedral on Rizal Street on April 29, a Sunday.
Another CCTV camera also captured Sukarno leaving behind a powerful improvised explosive device in front of 747 convenience store on Gensan Drive.
The bomb beside the cathedral went off past noon, while the IED at the convenience store was deactivated by police bomb experts.
Supt. Allan Peñaverde, chief of the Koronodal City Police Station, said Adtog, a resident of Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, drove the motorbike used by Sukarno – a resident of Barangay Bulod in Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao – in the bombing. /atm
