Survey shows Filipinos’ ‘vote of confidence’ in Duterte
Malacañang said the Social Weather Stations survey that many Filipinos expect improvement in the quality of their life in the next 12 months was a “vote of confidence” in President Rodrigo Duterte and his economic managers.
“Our people are feeling the effects of a growing economy,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement on Thursday.
The government, he said, is pleased with the results of the survey, which also revealed that “the net optimism about the economy continues to be excellent across all geographic areas and socioeconomic classes.”
Roque also said the economy “remains on target” as it hit 6.8 percent during the first quarter of the year. —CHRISTINE O. AVENDAÑO
