A man lost his pickup to three masked men who took his vehicle at gunpoint in front of an eatery in Pasig City early Wednesday.
Darwin Rivers Bicao, a 33-year-old resident of Provident Villages, Marikina City, alerted the police immediately after the incident, which happened at the corner of De Castro Avenue and Meleguas Street in Barangay (village) Sta. Lucia around 5 a.m.
Bicao, who was with a friend, parked the pickup, a Mitsubishi Strada 2010 model, with plate number NOL-660, along the street to have an early breakfast at a popular porridge house.
When they were about to board the pickup, three men wearing masks suddenly appeared and pointed their guns at them, said Senior Superintendent Jessie Cardona of the Eastern Police District.
After the victim was forced to give the men the key to his pickup, the suspects boarded the vehicle and sped off.
Brief chase
Bicao called the attention of the civilian enforcers patrolling the area to recover the vehicle, but the latter lost track of the suspects in the brief chase that followed.
The victim described one of the suspects as 5’4’’ and 5’6’’ in height and of medium build.
He said they were hard put at describing their facial features because of the masks they wore.
