Duterte’s daughter Kitty, grandchildren were injected with Dengvaxia  — Bong Go

Presidential daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte and the two children of resigned Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte were injected with the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said on Tuesday.

Go said Honeylet Avanceña, Veronica’s mother, confirmed this to him during their visit in Tacloban City on Tuesday.

“May nagtanong kanina kung na-inject raw ba si Kitty at ‘yung dalawang anak ni Paolo, kinonfirm naman po ng mga nanay nila na positive po na-inject po sila,” Go said at the sidelines of the 120th Philippine Navy Anniversary in Manila.

Malacañang had earlier said Duterte would create a three-man panel of experts to study the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine that has been blamed for the deaths of over 80 children.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President wanted a panel of experts to study the government’s mass immunization program after the conflicting testimonies of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) and a panel of experts from the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

The vaccine was developed by French pharmaceutical company Sanofi Pasteur. /vvp
