Policeman, girlfriend nabbed in Ozamiz City anti-drug raid

PAGADIAN CITY – Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a policeman and another suspect during an anti-illegal drug raid in Ozamiz City on Tuesday.

Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA director for Northern Mindanao, identified the arrested policeman as Police Officer 1 Juvane Pacatang. The other suspect was identified as Raullette Cortes, who was described as Pacatang’ girlfriend.

Villanueva said PDEA agents swooped on a house in Purok 5 in Barangay San Roque in Ozamiz City and seized from Cortes, the target of the operation, 18 sachets of suspected shabu and a packet of suspected marijuana.

Pacatang, a member of the Misamis Occidental Mobile Force Company who was in the house at the time of the raid, yielded a sachet of suspected shabu when frisked and arrested.

The arrested suspects were placed under PDEA custody and charges relating to the anti-illegal drug law were being prepared against them.
