Palace: Duterte to certify BBL as urgent ‘anytime soon’

President Rodrigo Duterte will certify the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) as urgent “anytime soon,” Malacañang said on Tuesday.

But Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President would only certify it as urgent if it conforms with what the administration and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front peace panels had agreed upon.

“The President promised to certify it. I cannot absolutely guarantee that the version of the House will be certified because I haven’t seen the text. But if it’s in conformity with what was agreed upon, then there should be no problem, the President will certify it,” Roque said in a Palace briefing.

The Senate and House of Representatives have urged President Duterte to certify the BBL as urgent. /je
