The CAFC (Cebu Amateur Football Club) 11th National Interclub Football Cup will hold its championship games today in three different venues here.
The University of San Carlos Technological Center (USC-TC) lady booters will gun for their nth title this year against out-of-town entry Aroroy FC of Masbate for the girls 17 under title at the San Roque football field.
USC-TC made the finals with a clean 4-0 win-loss record while Aroroy FC sports a 2-2 card with the two losses inflicted by USC-TC.
In the boys 14-under, the Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy marched to the finals with a 4-0 routing of Ormoc FC. It will face Mandaue Technical Institute after MTI edged Ateneo de Cebu (AdC), 2-1, in their semis match.
The boys 12 under title will be contested by Springdale and Los Amigos FC.
Springdale survived not only AdC but also a muddy field in their semis yesterday, which it won 2-1 courtesy of Jomigo Rafols and Ryan James Haosen.
Los Amigos FC, on the other hand, blanked Danao FC, 8-0.
AdC still has a chance to bring home a title its players 10 squad advanced to the final against San Roque Royal United (SRRU).
AdC streaked past Queen City United (QCU), 5-2, in the semifinal round while SRRU survived a penalty shootout against Danao FC, 4-3 after the regulation ended at 1-all.
Advancing to the semifinals in the men’s open are Hiroshi vs. SRRU and Waterfresh QCU vs. USC-TC.
Hiroshi topped group A with a clean 3-0 slate while Waterfresh QCU ruled group B with the same record.
Vying for a finals entry in the boys 17 under are USC-TC vs. Manila Soccer Academy(MSA) and ANS Pomeroy vs. Ormoc FC.
In the 40 above category, sister teams WealthBank QCU A and B arranged a possible titular showdown as they are still playing against separate semifinal opponents as of presstime last night.
WealthBank QCU A is battling Count FC while WealthBank QCU B is playing Hiroshi.
