MANILA, Philippines – Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III was rushed to the St. Luke’s Hospital in Bonifacio Global City Wednesday afternoon after his blood pressure rose to 150/100.

Pimentel was supposed to join Senators Teofisto Guingona III and Francis Pangilinan in a press conference early afternoon when he complained of discomfort.

Dr. Mariano Blancia and a certain Dr. Sison of the Senate clinic accompanied Pimentel during the trip to the hospital.

The senator’s father, Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. said his wife Bing was currently with their son.

Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is confined in the same hospital where she is undergoing treatment for a bone disease.

Pimentel filed the case of electoral sabotage before the Department of Justice-Commission on Elections joint panel against former president Gloria Arroyo, who is also confined in a P50,000-a-day suite in the same hospital.
