Bandits kill farmer, steal his horse, in Davao del Sur
DIGOS CITY – Another farmer was shot dead by bandits, who also stole animals belonging to unarmed civilians, in Davao del Sur on Friday, the police said Saturday.
Celestino Beturo, 58, a resident of Barangay Kimlawis in Kiblawan town was on his way to cut fresh grass for his farm animals when shot dead, according to Senior Inspector Erich Von Requilman, the Kiblawan, Davao del Sur police chief.
The suspects then fled with Beturo’s horse.
On May 13, suspected bandits also shot dead a farmer in Sitio Magdulog in Barangay San Isidro in Malalag, Davao del Sur – an adjacent village of Kiblawan’s.
The farmer’s horse was also taken by the suspects.
It was not immediately known if the suspects in the two incidents belong to just one group. ELDIE AGUIRRE
