Drug, robbery suspects shot dead in Cavite

SAN PEDRO CITY – Two suspected criminals were killed in separate shootouts with the police in Cavite province, early Saturday.

In Bacoor City, a suspected illegal drug pusher identified as Julius Jepson was killed in a buy-bust operation inside Green Valley subdivision in Barangay (village) San Nicolas 3, around 4 a.m.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Calabarzon police director said, undercover policemen were able to buy a still undetermined amount of “shabu” (crystal meth) from the suspect.

After the transaction, Jepson must have sensed that he was dealing with the authorities that he ran inside his house to get a gun, Eleazar said.

The suspect fired shots, prompting the police to shoot him down.

Robbery suspect

About an hour earlier in Alfonso town, the police also killed a robbery suspect in Barangay Buck Estate.

Eleazar said the police have yet to confirm the man’s identity but police believed he was involved in the robbery in Barangay Amuyong last May 16.

Eleazar said Buck Estate village chief Andy Añonuevo earlier reported to the police about a suspicious man roaming the village and asking residents for direction.

The police went to the village to check the report but the man suddenly opened fire, prompting the shootout.

Marijuana planter

In Batangas province, the police arrested Klein Ramos, 18, in a continuing anti-drug operation.

Eleazar said police in Mataas na Kahoy town were tipped off about Ramos’ marijuana plant in front of his house, prompting the authorities to arrest the suspect around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
