Extradited Filipino priest pleads guilty to 2 felony sex raps
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA—A Catholic priest accused of molesting two boys in North Dakota in the 1990s has pleaded guilty to two counts of felony gross sexual imposition.
Court records show that Father Fernando Sayasaya entered the pleas on Thursday during a scheduling meeting.
He is accused of abusing two underage siblings from 1995 to 1998, while he was assigned to the Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Mary’s Cathedral in the Fargo area.
Sentencing is set for July 30. Sayasaya faces up to 20 years in prison. A Philippine court ordered his extradition in 2010. —AP
