4.1-magnitude quake rocks northeast Surigao del Norte

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake jolted the town of Burgos, Surigao del Norte, on Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

Phivolcs said the tremor was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 15 kilometers.

The earthquake was located 11 kilometers northeast of the province.

Phivolcs said no aftershocks and damages could be expected due to the earthquake. /kga
