Solon accused of vote buying wants Diño summoned

/ 06:40 AM May 18, 2018

Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu has called on the House of Representatives to summon Interior Undersecretary Martin Diño for claiming that a third of its 292 members were engaged in vote buying during the recent barangay elections.

In a privilege speech late Wednesday, Abu dared Diño to name names and prove his allegations, saying he had been maligning the chamber to score political points.

“I urge this chamber to summon Undersecretary Diño through the appropriate committee,” Abu said.

He also called on Interior Secretary Eduardo Año to direct Diño to “release the names” of the 100 congressmen. — VINCE F. NONATO
