Cynthia Villar remains richest senator

Senator Cynthia Villar continued to hold the crown as the richest member of the Senate based on her last year’s statement of assets, liabilities and networth (SALN).

Villar’s declared networth as of December 31, 2017 was pegged at P3,611,260,766.

In her  SALN,  Villar declared no liabilities, real properties worth P4.588 million and personal properties worth a total of P3.606 billion—investment in shares of stocks (P2.249 billion) and “other real and personal properties” (P1.356 billion).
Neophyte Senator Manny Pacquiao remains the second richest senator with P2,946, 315,029.93 in his SALN, lower than his last year’s P3,072,315,030 net worth.
Pacquiao has real properties amounting to P1.588 billion and personal properties worth P1.487 billion but he declared total liabilities of P129.778 million worth of bank loans. 
Last year,  he purchased a P18.6-million condominium with parking at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The eight other senators who made it to the Top 10 richest are Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto (P538.8 million), Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri (P152.09 million), Sonny, Angara (P131.7 million), Franklin Drilon (P93.727 million), Grace Poe (P90.674 million), Sherwin Gatchalian (P88.226 million), JV Ejercito (P78.953 million), and Richard Gordon (P69.508 million).

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was at the bottom of the standing with P6,871,743.64 wealth in his SALN.

Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, meanwhile, was notably 6th in the list of poorest senators with P18.110 million net worth.
