The public works assistant secretary for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao whom President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to resign hit back at Malacañang for supposedly believing the corruption allegations hurled against him by politicians.
In a series of posts on his Facebook account, Tingagun Umpa called for an investigation of contractor-politicians with dealings with the department whom he alleged were behind the “demolition job” against him.
“Those of you in Malacañang, you believed these old [traditional politicians] who are corrupt. They want me out of my position because they are about to be exposed,” Umpa wrote. —Jovic Yee
