Duterte appoints Karen Jimeno as undersecretary for disaster resiliency

President Rodrigo Duterte has named lawyer Karen Jimeno as undersecretary for disaster resiliency of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS).

Malacañang announced the appointment on Wednesday.


Jimeno will be serving under Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who heads the PMS.

She became known for defending then chief justice Renato Corona during his impeachment trial.

Prior to her current appointment, Jimeno served as Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary for more than a year.

She also served as spokesperson of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery under then Secretary Panfilo Lacson. /ee
