A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck the province of Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to a Phivolcs report, the tremor hit west of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat at 1:05 p.m. It was felt at an Intensity IV.
Phivolcs also said that the municipality of Lebak in Sultan Kudarat felt an Intensity IV tremor.
Meanwhile Cotabato City and the municipality of Sultan Kudarat felt an Intensity III tremor. The quake was felt at an Intensity II in Aleosan, Cotabato, the municipalities of Bagumbayan and Isulan.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks and damage could be expected from the quake that was recorded at 40-kilometers deep and of tectonic origin. /muf
