Comelec suspends 729 candidates in 2018 village polls
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended more than 700 candidates in the 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, acting Comelec chair Al Parreño said that the poll body suspended 729 candidates who were reported to have committed electoral offenses.
“We have suspended approximately 729 candidates. We are still determining as to how many of them actually won in the elections,” Parreño told reporters.
“If they won, isu-suspend ang proclamation nila (we will suspend their proclamation),” the Comelec official said. /ee
