A joint committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday approved the committee report of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) without any amendments.
The committee on local government, voting 32-3; the committee on Muslim affairs, voting 27-3; and the special committee on peace, unity and reconciliation, voting 27-3, have approved Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte’s motion to approve the panel report.
The committee report includes House Bill (HB) 6475, which seeks to abolish the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
The joint committees earlier approved the passage of HB 6475 as the House’s version of BBL and retain all of its provisions.
The bill, among others, seeks to establish a new Bangsamoro political entity, and provide for its basic structure of government.
