Spouse of Davao City exec survives helicopter crash

KORONADAL CITY – The husband of a Davao City councilor survived a helicopter crash in the hinterlands of T’boli, South Cotabato on Monday.

Capt. Reynaldo Acosta, husband of Councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta, survived with minor injuries when the helicopter he was flying, which was being used to spray chemicals on a banana plantation, crashed in Barangay Basag around 10 a.m., T’boli Mayor Dibu Tuan said.

The chopper had just refueled in Tampakan town and was to dump chemicals anew over the Lapanday-operated banana plantation when the accident took place. /kga
