14 hurt in Batangas as bus hits STAR Tollway restroom
SAN PEDRO CITY-Fourteen people were hurt in Balete, Batangas on Monday after a passenger bus crashed into a restroom of the sub-office of the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway.
Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police said the bus driver reportedly fell asleep, causing the vehicle to swerve off the highway near STAR’s toll plaza around 5:25 a.m.
The driver was identified as Marlon Antenor of the Quezon City-bound Alps Passenger Bus.

The police said Antenor, his conductor, and 12 passengers were hurt and taken to the Metro Lipa Hospital and the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Batangas.
The bus was carrying 45 passengers. /vvp
