Masbate poll bet nabbed for illegal possession of firearms

DIMASALANG, Masbate — A candidate  for barangay chairman in Balud town was arrested on Sunday for illegal possession of firearms, police said.

Armed with a search warrant, the Balud police and the Regional Special Operations Task Group swooped down on the house of Francisco Rojo, 45, in Barangay Tonga around 6:10 a.m.


Found in Rojo’s possession was one steel magazine loaded with one live ammunition.

Rojo is now in the custody of the Balud police. /ee
