Generally-fair weather is expected in Metro Manila but thunderstorms are likely to occur, the weather bureau said Sunday.

The easterlies or warm wind blowing from the Pacific will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Samar provinces, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The agency warned residents in Samar for possible flooding and landslide due to moderate to heavy rain.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

According to Pagasa, temperatures in Metro Manila will range from 24 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius. /cbb
