2 security guards dead in QC condominium shooting

Two security guards from different security agencies were shot dead after a heated altercation in a condominium in Quezon City on Friday afternoon.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel identified the victims as security guards from Detectnet Security Agency and Inerca Security agency.

Both died after the reported shootout at No. 207 One Burgundy Plaza Condominium along  Katipunan Avenue in Barangay Loyola around 2:30 p.m.

In an interview with the Inquirer at the crime scene, Chief Insp. Redentor Ulsano, Anonas police station 9 commander, said one of the guards had been identified as Aclipiades Pobe through a postal ID recovered from his body.

Pobe sustained a gunshot wound in the chest while the other had a gunshot wound in the back.

Both victims, who were wearing civilian clothes, died on the spot and were recovered in two separate floors.

The police brought around 20 security guards to the QCPD for questioning.

Chief Insp. Rogelio Diaz, deputy station 9 commander, said the police suspect rivalry between two security agencies manning the building as possible motive for the shooting.
