AFP chief Galvez now a four-star general

General Carlito Galvez received his fourth star on Wednesday after almost a month after he assumed as the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Galvez led the 38 other star-rank officers in the oathtaking ceremony before President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang.


Before the ceremony, Duterte and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana donned the four-star rank to Galvez.

The newly-promoted AFP chief took over the top military post last April 18. He replaced now-retired Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero./ac
