Bongbong Marcos hopes to speed up probe on vote recount
Former Senator Bongbong Marcos said he hopes to find ways to speed up the investigation on the recount of votes for the vice presidency before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).
“Two years is too long to keep the people waiting to know the true results of their election and to know if their vote was actually counted,” he said.
Marcos, who filed an electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo, was at the Supreme Court on Wednesday to commemorate the second anniversary of the May 2016 national elections. The vote recount started only last April.

Since then, Robredo has asked the Supreme Court to follow the threshold set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for shading of ballots.
The shading threshold set by Comelec was at 25 percent. However, the PET declared a 50 percent threshold in the case between Marcos and Robredo. /ee
