Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno would preside the en banc session of the Supreme Court on May 11, her spokesperon said on Wednesday.
But lawyer Jojo Lacanilao said the Chief Justice would inhibit herself when the quo warranto petition against her is tackled during the session.
“May en banc session siya sa May 11. I’m not at liberty to say kung anong agenda nun pero kung pag-uusapan po yun (quo warranto), matutuloy yung meeting na yun,” Lacanilao said in an interview at the SC.
“She wants to be there, she’ll be there, she’ll preside over the en banc pero mag-iinhibit siya syempre kapag pag-uusapan yung quo warranto,” he added.
Sereno returned to office at around 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday after taking an indefinite leave last March. /muf
