All satellite and consular offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will be closed on May 14.
In an advisory, the DFA said all their offices will have no operations and will be closed since Malacañang has declared May 14 as special non-working day due to the conduct of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
The DFA said confirmed passport appointments on May 14 may be accommodated any day from May 15 up to May 25, 2018 (except Saturdays) but only at the satellite or consular office indicated in their confirmed appointment.
“In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 479 declaring 14 May 2018 as a special (non-working) day due to the Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan Elections, the Department of Foreign Affairs- Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) informs the public that DFA Satellite and Consular Offices will be closed on 14 May 2018,” the DFA said.
“Applicants with confirmed passport appointments on the said date may be accommodated at their original site from 15 May to 25 May 2018 except Saturdays,” it added.
The DFA reminded applicants to bring a printed copy of their confirmed passports appointments in order to be accommodated by DFA personnel.
The DFA likewise advised the public to expect a surge of applicants in their satellite and consular offices due to the one-day suspension of work. /kga
