MMDA tows solon’s car in QC for illegal parking

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcers towed a car owned by Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman on Monday as it was illegally parked along Scout Borromeo Street in Quezon City.

In a radio report over of DZMM, MMDA authorities said that it was Lagman’s grandson, TJ, who was using the towed Hyundai Tucson.

According to the congressman’s grandsonson, he asked his driver to accompany him to his condominium unit located on Scout Borromeo Street. He admitted his fault that he forgot to instruct the driver not to park along the road.

Lagman received a ticket from the MMDA, which would cost him a fine of at least P2,500.  The MMDA reiterated its stance on road clearing operations, saying that they have already towed other cars with special plates in the past.

The car bears the protocol plate number “8” designated to members of the House of Representatives.  /kga
