Today, May 7, is the 32nd death anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Juan F. Nakpil.
In 1922, he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas and entered the prestigious Fontainebleau School of Fine Arts in France.
In 1925, he enrolled at the Harvard Graduate School for Architecture.
Nakpil designed the 1937 International Eucharistic Congress Altar and rebuilt and enlarged the Quiapo Church in 1930.
