Town councilor survives ambush in Zamboanga del Sur

PAGADIAN CITY — Councilor Evrin Dres of Dimataling town in Zamboanga del Sur survived an ambush there on Sunday.

The 37-year-old Dres was driving his pickup truck to his ricemill in Barangay Kagawasan when ambushed in Barangay Codilog, according to PO1 Iresidel Osayan, a Dimataling police investigator.

Dres escaped harm by driving as fast as he could.

According to Osayan, Dres had identified some of the suspects, who were being pursued.

But Osayan did not name any of them.

According to him, Dres’s family has a long-running political feud with another family. /atm
