The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday vowed to intensify its “internal cleansing” program after receiving a pat on the back from Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
“We appreciate Senator Panfilo Lacson’s statement congratulating the PNP in its intensified internal cleansing efforts,” PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. John Bulalacao said in a statement.
Lacson, himself a former PNP chief, commended the PNP leadership on Saturday for “taking ‘kotong’ cops off the street.”
“This is a big boost to the morale of our personnel who are faithfully performing their duties amidst the dangers of police work,” Bulalacao said.
Ensuring that every policeman is well-disciplined is a priority program of newly installed PNP chief Oscar Albayalde, according to Bulalacao.
“There is no better way to earn the trust and confidence of the public but to have a police organization whose members are well-disciplined,” he said. /ee
